Dr. Sasan Ghaffari is an invasive non-interventional cardiologist who specializes in the diagnosis and management of complex cardiovascular disorders.  Dr. Ghaffari is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology and he is a Registered Physician Vascular Interpreter.

Dr. Ghaffari obtained his B.A. degree in Biology with honors from Rutgers University in 1986 and received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine, currently known as Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia PA in 1990. Dr. Ghaffari completed his internal medicine residency program at the University of Michigan Medical Center 1990-1993.  Dr. Ghaffari held a faculty position in the Department of General Medicine at University of Michigan between 7/93-6/94 before he began his cardiology fellowship training at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 7/94. 

Dr. Ghaffari completed his general cardiology fellowship program in 6/97 and  joined the section of Clinical Cardiology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation as member of staff from 1997-2004.  Dr. Ghaffari also held a position as Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Ohio State University from 1999-2003.  In addition to his clinical, academic, and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Ghaffari served as an Associate Program Director of Cleveland Clinic Foundation Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Dr. Ghaffari moved to the West Coast in 2004 to join his classmate and friend, Dr. Ramin Rabbani as a member of the Pacific Cardiovascular Associates (PCA), 2004-2008. At PCA, Dr. Ghaffari was the Director of the vascular lab and Co-Director of the nuclear imaging.

Dr.  Ghaffari’s clinical interests include diagnostic cardiac catheterizations, echocardiography including intra-operative transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, vascular ultrasound and pacemaker implantation.  Dr. Ghaffari’s clinical experience in one of the top heart centers in the country has enabled him to take care of patients with complex cardiovascular disorders.  His passion for running and tennis along with deep interest in exercise physiology allows him to better motivate his patients to adhere to heart healthy life styles.

Ramin Rabbani MD, FACC, FSCAI
Fellow of the American College of Cardiology

Fellow of the Society of Cardiac Angiography and Intervention Dr. Rabbani specializes in the treatment of complex angioplasty and stenting of the coronary and peripheral arteries including carotid artery stenting. Dr. Rabbani also specializes in echocardiography and nuclear stress imaging.

Dr. Rabbani received his Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Brown University in 1987. He graduated Magna Cum Laude and AOA from the University of Michigan School of Medicine in 1991. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center in 1994. He completed fellowship trainings in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology and Peripheral Vascular Diseases at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 1999. The Cleveland Clinic Foundation is recognized as the world's leader in treating cardiovascular diseases and hence possesses the most rigorous cardiology training program in the nation. Dr. Rabbani is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Diseases, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Cardiology.

After joining the faculty of the University of Southern California School of Medicine in 1999, Dr. Rabbani served as the Assistant Director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory as well as the Director of the Peripheral Vascular Interventional Program.

From 2001-2008, Dr. Rabbani was a physician partner at Pacific Cardiovascular Associates (PCA) where he served as the Director of the Peripheral Vascular Interventional Program as well as the Director of the Nuclear Cardiology Program.

Dr. Rabbani has served as Chief of Cardiology at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center in Laguna Hills, California from 2006 - 2008. He has served on the Medicine Executive Committee at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center and Mission Hospital Regional Medical Center.

Dr. Rabbani is recognized by his peers as an exceptionally skilled, personable physician whose calm and caring demeanor, coupled with a keen intellect is reassuring and endearing to all he meets. Dr. Rabbani is now welcoming prior and new patients to his newly established practice.
